IBM's Smarter Commerce Global Summit brought together an audience of 3,500 at the Swan and Dolphin Resort at Walt Disney World in Orlando—three days of content, conversation, and commerce at one of the largest gatherings in IBM's conference calendar.
The opening experience was built in two acts. The first: an ultra-widescreen film spanning a 200-foot, 180-degree surround screen—animated photography, motion graphics, and a visual language built to fill a room at that scale. The second: a live dance performance by eight dancers, choreographed in direct response to—and synchronized with—filmed content created specifically for the show. The dancers were shot during development, their movement used to generate the on-screen animations; the full choreography then grew from that foundation, with the live performance and the screen content locked together in the final show.
Environmental graphics throughout the meeting spaces were added to the brief after the client saw the visual language taking shape—decals, window and floor clings, banners, and lightboxes extending the aesthetic of the opening film across the full three-day environment.
